The New York Tapes is a CD sampler of sessions I produced when I was a young trombonist in New York City. During the 70s and 80s I was fortunate to be able to write for, play with and record some of the most promising musicians in town, many of whom were active in bands I led during those days. If the names Billy Hart, Arnie Lawarence, Jim McNeely, Bob Moses, Tom Harrell, Harold Danko,Jon Burr, Jeff Brillinger, Bob  Kindred, Valery Ponomarev, Gary Symulian, Arment Donelian and Jerome Harris ring a bell perhaps you can appreciate how fondly I remember those times. 

Listening to this CD again I’m proud of how fresh the music still sounds.  Each track is a personal musical milestone shared with some very talented friends. Hey guys, thanks for your music and the wonderful memories.
